RIYADH, April 29: The renowned Saudi sports commentator Muhammad Ramadan passed away at the age of 91 after battling an illness.

Throughout his career, Ramadan became synonymous with the historic triumphs and achievements of Saudi sports, particularly through his commentary on national team matches. With over 40 years spent behind the sports microphone, he earned the distinction of being one of the oldest commentators in the Middle East.

Originally from the Al-Bab neighborhood in Mecca, Ramadan's journey was marked by various professional stages. Despite specializing in political science, his passion for sports led him to pursue a career in journalism, where he excelled as a journalist, field correspondent, and commentator.

Ramadan's golden voice resonated through generations, leaving an indelible mark on the sports landscape of Saudi Arabia. Despite facing health challenges in recent years, his dedication to his craft remained unwavering until his peaceful departure yesterday morning.
