Kuwait Ready to Receive Food Shipments from Middle East and Europe

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: A security source revealed that the Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the General Administration of Customs, has finalized all preparations at the Abdali port to begin receiving food and vegetables from Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, and Europe.

Starting September 5, the port will be ready to handle these imports, with designated areas prepared for receiving trucks. The goods will be transferred to Kuwaiti trucks via the "handling" system and then escorted under security supervision to the land transport site for inspection and sample testing by the relevant authorities. A streamlined process will be implemented to expedite the transfer of goods to the local market, ensuring that food items do not spoil due to delays in transport and inspection.
