Rashidi’s murder suspect remanded to police custody for 1 more month

KUWAIT CITY, May 31: As investigations continue in the case of the murder of citizen Mubarak Al-Rashidi, the detention renewal judge has ordered further detention of the accused for another month, reports Al-Qabas daily. The suspect is currently being charged with premeditated murder, while the Ministry of Interior continues to collect more information after the victim went missing in Kabad in March this year before and finally his corpse was recently found in Salmi after a continuous and dedicated effort by the officials of the Ministry of Interior.

An informed source told the daily the accused has denied the accusation during the prosecution’s investigations, saying: “I did not kill him.” The source added, so far the man in detention is the only prime suspect but the security authorities have not ruled out the involvement of others in the case and this will be unfolded as the authorities take their investigations and interrogations to a next level. Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti security delegation from the Ministry of Interior went to Egypt to interrogate the prime witness and who is in Egypt.
