Radiation control at ports customs

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: Director- General of the General Administration of Customs, Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi, has announced the launch of radiation control of customs ports as part of the strategic plans of the General Administration of Customs for the year 2019-2020, reports Al- Anba daily.

He pointed out that the aim of the project is to protect the country from the danger of illicit radioactive and nuclear materials entering the country and to enable the customs detect early any radioactive material and this comes within the strategic plans customs administration.

The Director General added that the control centers will be set up in the ports of Shuwaikh, Doha and Shuaiba, in addition to Al-Nuwaiseeb and Al-Salmi border centers.
