Quick Police Action Saves Expat’s Vehicle from Being Dismantled

KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Hawalli detectives successfully recovered a stolen vehicle and prevented its dismantling, thanks to a prompt investigation. The vehicle, a 2001 American four-wheel-drive owned by a 39-year-old expatriate, was stolen from an open parking area opposite his residence. He discovered it missing the following morning and filed a report at the Hawalli Police Station.

According to a security source, surveillance footage revealed three suspects arriving in a saloon car, with two of them using a fake key to steal the vehicle. Investigators quickly identified and arrested two of the suspects, who confessed to forming a gang with a third accomplice, currently at large, specializing in stealing old vehicles to dismantle and sell as spare parts.

The suspects led detectives to a stable in the Kabd area where the stolen vehicle had been hidden. The third suspect has been added to the wanted list. Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of the gang’s activities, including their methods of smuggling and disposing of stolen goods.
