DOHA, July 15: The General Authority of Customs has issued a public warning regarding a surge in scam messages that falsely claim to be from “Qatari Customs.” These fraudulent texts often reference fake customs parcels and urge recipients to update their address details. Some also request payments or fees via deceptive links.
In an official statement posted on social media, the Authority clarified that it does not issue such messages, nor do any of its authorized partners. It stressed that all official communications are conducted exclusively through verified and approved channels.
To protect themselves from falling victim to these scams, the Authority advises citizens and residents to avoid clicking on suspicious links, never share personal or banking information, and verify any doubtful messages by contacting the relevant authorities through official communication lines.
