KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: Qadsiya has surged to the top of the U-20 League after a narrow 1-0 victory over Kuwait Club, courtesy of a goal from Abdullah Al-Ghaniman, in their Round 3 clash at Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium. The win moves the “Yellow” team to nine points, putting it firmly in first place, while Kuwait remains on three points.
Despite moments of dominance from Kuwait, Qadsia’s solid defensive organization and effective counterattacks allowed them to secure the match-winning goal.
The league standings were also influenced by other results. Kazma drew 0-0 with Arabi, reaching seven points, while Al-Sahel earned its first point. Al-Jahra fell 1-2 to Sulaibikhat, bringing the latter to four points.
Fahaheel climbed to fifth place with a 3-0 win over Al-Shabab, while Al-Ahmadi remained at the bottom with zero points. Salmiya celebrated its first victory of the season with a 9-1 rout of Sporty, also reaching four points. Al-Yarmouk secured second place after a 4-1 win over Khaitan, who stayed on three points.
Qadsia now leads the league ahead of its rivals, setting up an exciting remainder of the U-20 season.
