KUWAIT CITY, July 15: The Ministry of Social Affairs is developing a new vision to enhance job opportunities for citizens within the Cooperative Societies by promoting the "Kuwaitization" of public jobs. This initiative aims to create more employment opportunities for Kuwaiti citizens in roles such as legal accountants, purchasing clerks, storekeepers, goods receiving officers, and market and warehouse managers, according to sources from the Ministry.
This new vision is part of broader efforts by the Quadripartite Committee, which is responsible for reviewing nomination files and conducting personal interviews for Kuwaitization within Cooperative Societies. These efforts are in line with Ministerial Resolution No. 68/2023, which sets the criteria for filling supervisory positions with citizens, including directors, deputies, and department heads.
Ministry sources highlighted that Kuwaitizing public jobs within cooperatives could ease job pressure on the government sector, particularly if financial compensation is competitive. Since the beginning of this year, 172 employment contracts have been approved under this initiative, 57 of which are for supervisory positions. The success of this vision is anticipated to generate numerous job opportunities for citizens, helping to balance employment demands between the cooperative and government sectors.
The Ministry of Social Affairs remains committed to implementing this vision to foster job growth and ensure sustainable employment for Kuwaiti citizens within the cooperative sector.
