KUWAIT CITY, June 16: Public Authority for Sports has commended the impressive performance of the national shooting team, which secured seven medals — including three gold, one silver, and three bronze — at the Asian Shooting Championships held in Linfen, China.

Speaking ahead of the honoring ceremony, Acting Director-General of the Public Authority for Sports Bashar Abdullah praised the team's exceptional results, attributing their success to the strategic planning and dedicated preparation of the Kuwait Shooting Federation. He emphasized the Federation’s commitment to nurturing shooters and equipping them for high-level competitions.

Chairman of the Kuwait Shooting Sports Club, Duaij Al-Otaibi, described the achievement as a proud moment for Kuwait. He dedicated the medals, on behalf of himself, the Board of Directors, and the champion shooters, to the country’s political leadership and the people of Kuwait, stating:

"These achievements by our shooters bring pride to the entire Kuwaiti shooting community."

Al-Otaibi expressed optimism about future success, voicing his hope that Kuwait’s male and female shooters would continue to excel and represent the country with distinction in upcoming international tournaments.

Meanwhile, shooter Shahad Al-Hawal, who contributed to the team’s silver medal in trap shooting, shared her joy at placing second in what she described as a highly competitive event.

“Winning second place at the Asian level is a significant achievement, especially given the strength of the participating national teams,” Al-Hawal said, adding that she looks forward to further accomplishments in the future.
