‘Protect Bay from illegal fishermen’

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 13: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf, has told the securitymen and the concerned authorities that they must carry out daily campaigns along the Kuwait Bay to protect the environment and discourage fishermen who violate fishing laws by fishing in prohibited areas and damage the environmental, marine and natural life, reports Al-Anba daily.

The senior official briefed the securitymen during an inspection tour of Asherij area. In this regard he urged cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the concerned authorities to overcome all obstacles that affect the progress of work. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior was received by the Director-General of the Coast Guard General Department, Brigadier- General Saleh Al-Foudari, the Director of the Environmental Police Department, Colonel Dr. Hussein bin Tafl a, the Monitor of Maritime Operations and Fisheries, Engr Badr Al-Fahad, and Nada Al-Dabbash, the Director of the Inspection and Control Department at the Environment Public Authority.
