Process on to transfer 470 private ‘nurseries’ to MoE

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 12: The process of transferring the supervision of some 470 private nurseries from the Ministry of Social Affairs to Ministry of Education has already begun in line with cabinet’s decision, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting educational sources.

In this context, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Social Affairs Hana’a Al- Hajiri disclosed that a recent meeting of her ministry with the Ministry of Education agreed on halting the registration of new nurseries in the country.

In a statement, Al-Hajiri explained the meeting has set a final date for transferring the supervision of private nurseries to Ministry of Education, and to know the desire of employees in the sector of private nurseries to move.

Concerning the financial responsibility involved in the process of transfer, Al-Hajiri indicated the Ministry of Social Affairs has taken necessary measures to list the administrative and financial obligation, and addressed Ministry of Education to enable them address the Finance Ministry in relation to its fiscal budget for 2019/2020.
