KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Attorney Abdullah Al-Alanda stated that the Criminal Court, in its ‘Renewed Panel’ session, decided to release his client, along with another Kuwaiti citizen and an expatriate, on bail of KD1,000 each, in the case of smuggling around 300 kilograms of hashish by sea with the intent to traffic the substance. In a statement to the newspaper, Al-Alanda confirmed that the court accepted his arguments, which maintained the invalidity of the procedures, implausibility of the incident, and lack of justification for pretrial detention, leading to the court’s decision to release the defendants. Al-Alanda stressed that the decision reflects confidence in the fair and just application of the law, which is not surprising given the impartial judiciary in the country.
