LONDON, Sept 20: Prince Harry is reportedly planning to move his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the United Kingdom for their education — a decision said to be part of a broader long-term vision for their upbringing, according to Daily Mail sources.
The news emerged following the Duke of Sussex’s recent reunion with his father, King Charles III, during his visit to the UK earlier this month. Citing a close friend of Prince Harry, the Daily Mail reported that the Duke strongly believes the UK is where his children would receive the “best education.”
“I can tell you that Harry wants to educate the children here in the UK,” the source told the outlet, describing the reasoning behind the plan as “fascinating.”
According to the insider, Harry feels Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are missing out on the "extensive family network" enjoyed by their royal cousins in Britain. The Duke, who maintains close ties with schoolmates from his days at Ludgrove and Eton, reportedly hopes his children can also benefit from similar experiences and long-lasting friendships.
“He wants that for his own children,” the source added.
However, the potential relocation may not be straightforward. Convincing Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, could be a “challenge,” the source noted, suggesting that internal family discussions are ongoing.
“There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan,” the source revealed. “The King, however, is delighted.”
The comment implies that King Charles has already been briefed on the idea and is supportive of his son’s desire to reconnect his children with their royal heritage and educational traditions in the UK.
While there has been no official statement from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the report adds to growing speculation about Prince Harry's evolving relationship with the royal family and his vision for his children's future.
