LONDON, July 22: Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared a new photograph of their son, Prince George, in celebration of his 12th birthday on Tuesday.
“Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George!” the Prince and Princess of Wales wrote in the caption accompanying the image, which was posted on their official X and Instagram accounts.
The photo shows the young royal smiling warmly at the camera, leaning casually against a wooden fence with his arms crossed. Prince George is dressed in a white shirt layered with a fleece vest, exuding a relaxed and cheerful demeanor.
The official Royal Family account also reposted the picture, adding their own birthday wishes: “Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince George!”
Born Prince George Alexander Louis on July 22, 2013, at 4:24 p.m., in the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, he remains a prominent figure within the royal family.
This year, Prince George has garnered significant public attention, solidifying his role as a key member of the Firm. His first public appearance in 2025 was in April, when he and Prince William attended a UEFA Champions League match in Paris. Although a private outing, fans enjoyed seeing the father-son pair share a moment bonding over their mutual love of football.
Prince George’s first official royal engagement of the year took place on May 5 at Buckingham Palace, where he participated in military ceremonies honoring VE Day. The young prince not only joined the procession but also appeared on the palace balcony to watch the RAF flypast and attended a tea party held for World War II veterans.
In June, Prince George was again in the spotlight during King Charles’s official birthday celebrations, known as the Trooping the Colour ceremony. Alongside his parents and siblings—Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—he appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the traditional RAF flypast and took part in the royal carriage procession.
Most recently, George delighted tennis fans with his presence at the Wimbledon Championships earlier this month. He joined his sister and parents in the Royal Box to watch the men’s final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, witnessing an intense four-set victory for the Italian player.
Earlier this year, Prince George’s sister, Princess Charlotte, celebrated her 10th birthday on May 2. To mark the occasion, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a charming photo taken by Princess Catherine during a windy hike, showing Charlotte dressed in a camouflage outfit and carrying a backpack. Charlotte’s birthday followed just over a week after their younger brother, Prince Louis, turned seven.
As Prince George turns 12, the young royal continues to take on more public roles, hinting at his future responsibilities as heir apparent.
