Power used from Gulf network

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: In the month of July, the Ministry of Electricity and Water exported 15,228 megawatts through the Gulf interconnection network, and received 12,010 megawatts through the network during the same month, with a difference of 3,218 megawatts in favor of the Kuwaiti network, reports Aljarida daily. According to a report by the Ministry of Electricity and Water, it obtained the support of the Gulf network for eight days during July, as the incoming loads to the network increased compared to the outgoing due to the high energy consumption loads with the rise in weather temperatures. The maximum load that was used was 53 megawatts, while the lowest load was 5 megawatts.

The highest load for the benefit of the Kuwaiti network was 394 megawatts. In a related context, the Ministry of Electricity announced the restoration of the electricity to block 3 of Kaifan area following the exit of three sub-feeders from the main switching station, Kaifan “B”, and the restoration of electricity to the parts that were cut off in blocks 3 and 5 in Salaam area after the exit of five sub-feeders from the main transfer station Salaam ‘C’. In a press statement, the ministry revealed that its emergency teams immediately rushed to the station sites, and carried out the necessary maintenance, leading to the restoration of electricity in the areas that experienced power outage.
