Postponement of tomorrows session due to infection cases

KUWAIT CITY, Jul 13: The speaker of the National Assembly Marzouk Al – Ghanem announced postponement of session of national assembly which was scheduled to be held tomorrow after receiving a letter from the Minister of Health Sheikh Basel Al- Sabah, stating that number of Ministers and staff in the secretariat were infected from Coronavirus (COVID 19)

Al-Ghanem added in a statement to the journalists, that, based on phone calls with the Minister of Health and the official letter received from him regarding the test results for the MPs and the secretariat staff, which recommends that the session not be held after consulting with the council’s office the session was postponed to preserve health and safety of all.

He further stated that there are those who need a re-examination, and there are number of those who came in contact, besides this there are those who have already been diagnosed with infection. The Speaker stated that he cannot reveal the names or numbers of the infected, as a president of the council being informed of the results of the examination revealing them to the concerned who will be informed by the Minister of Health .

He stated that the date of the next examination and the date of the next session will be announced later and it is important to take health measures as instructed by health authorities for those who have been infected. (KUNA)
