Population boom spurs call for Jahra ministries complex

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: Municipal Council member Abdullah Al-Enezi submitted a proposal to establish a ministries complex serving the northern region within Jahra Governorate, covering an area of 300,000 square meters. In his proposal, Al-Enezi highlighted the need for an integrated ministries complex in Jahra Governorate and the surrounding areas to provide comprehensive government services. He cited the governorate’s high population density and the presence of major housing projects, including Mutlaa City, which comprises 28,288 housing units, and the South Saad Al-Abdullah project, which includes 22,152 housing units along with additional residential plots in its eastern expansion.

Al-Enezi also noted future residential developments such as Nawaf Al-Ahmad City and Al-Sabriya City, each projected to include 54,000 housing units, as well as the Al-Naayem area, which will accommodate 9,800 housing units. He called for the establishment of the complex in Jahra Governorate in line with Municipal Council Resolution No. 2, issued on October 2, 2006. The resolution outlines the following provisions:

First - Approval to allocate a 300,000-square-meter plot in Jahra Governorate for the establishment of a ministries complex to serve the northern region.

Second - The project must be designed in line with the latest international standards for the design of government and administrative buildings.

Third - The site should include supporting service facilities for both employees and visitors, such as cafés, restaurants, and various administrative service centers.

Fourth - The Ministry of Public Works will be responsible for executing the project using its technical expertise and human resources. Fifth - Coordination must be carried out with relevant service ministries, and their approvals obtained before the start of implementation.
