Policeman kidnapped and assaulted

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: A Policeman was kidnapped in the West Abdullah Mubarak area from his vehicle and beaten. He had attended a call when a military personnel had asked him to attend an important incident. While he was getting beaten up he was also photographed and thrown out of speeding vehicle with an aim to blackmail him. He was threatened with defamation if he reported the matter.

The Policeman later went to the hospital to receive treatment to acquire a medical report and reported this matter to the police station. In his statement he reported that it was a revenge for carrying out his duties as he had earlier arrested one of the accused in a drug case and after his release from prison he took revenge with help of his military colleague.

After registering the case CID officers hunted down the suspects, first one was arrested in Mubarak Al Kabeer area, while the second one surrendered. They were referred to the public prosecution. They have been detained for further investigation.
