KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: The suburb of Firdous witnessed a strange brawl in the early hours of the day when five people were involved in a fight which resulted in some of them attempting to attack the Firdous Police Station using sharp weapons – swords, knives, iron skewers and batons, reports Al-Anba daily. The incident prompted the security authorities to fire warning shots in the air and called a backup force to control the suspects and detain them. Police have confiscated the weapons and referred the suspects to the concerned authorities.
In the meantime an extensive investigation has been opened into the incident to find out what exactly happened between the five people who are believed to be two bedoun and three Kuwaitis. Giving the details of the incident, a security source said securitymen saw the people fighting at 3:00 am – two of them armed with a sword and iron skewer. They had allegedly smashed the windshield of the car after hindering its movement and were trying to reach the man behind the wheel.
The source added the security men intervened and fired three warning shots and arrested the two bedoun. The source said a few minutes later (after the arrest of the two bedoun) three Kuwaiti youth armed with batons and knives arrived at the police station to attack the bedoun, but they too were arrested.
