KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Polish Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Michal Golebiewski, highlighted the steadily growing bilateral relations between Poland and Kuwait, describing them as a “true friendship” built on strong political, economic, and cultural cooperation.

Speaking at the Polish Embassy's celebration of Poland’s Constitution Day, Ambassador Golebiewski praised the ongoing collaboration between the two nations. The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including Deputy Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Dr. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah, Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Sadiq Marafi, along with several ambassadors, diplomats, and friends of Poland in Kuwait.
“We are very pleased with the development of Polish-Kuwaiti relations, which recently included a new round of political consultations in Kuwait,” said the ambassador. “Earlier this year, the President of Poland also met with His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait, reflecting the strength of our mutual engagement.”
Ambassador Golebiewski noted that political dialogue between the two countries continues to gain momentum, particularly through their joint involvement in EU-GCC frameworks. He emphasized the shared commitment to core international principles such as respect for state sovereignty, peaceful conflict resolution, and adherence to international law.
On the economic front, the ambassador expressed pride in the expanding trade and investment ties between Poland and Kuwait, citing opportunities for further cooperation aligned with Kuwait’s Vision 2035. “Poland stands ready to share its expertise in key sectors including agriculture, construction, information technology, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals,” he said.
Turning to cultural and educational exchanges, Ambassador Golebiewski announced the resumption of direct flights between Kuwait and Krakow via Jazeera Airways starting this June, increasing from two to three weekly flights. “This has been warmly welcomed by travelers and is a step forward in strengthening people-to-people connections,” he added.

He also highlighted the return of Polish students to Kuwait University for Arabic language studies and introduced a new training program for Kuwaiti professionals at the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia.
Reflecting on the occasion, the ambassador revisited Poland’s historic milestones, underscoring the significance of the May 3, 1791 Constitution—the first in Europe and second globally after the United States—as a cornerstone of modern democratic governance.
“Poland is currently experiencing one of its most successful eras politically and economically,” he concluded. “Our strategic goal is to deepen constructive cooperation with partners like Kuwait to ensure mutual security and prosperity, grounded in a rules-based international order.”
