KUWAIT CITY, June 26: President of the Environment Protection Society Dr. Wejdan Al-Oqab revealed a number of proposals and sustainable solutions adopted by the society to mitigate sand and dust storms in Kuwait by the year 2035, reports Al-Anba daily. In a press statement, Al-Oqab presented the outlines of the targeted plan between 2022 and 2035 to mitigate sand and dust storms.

She stressed that there is no alternative to implementing an ambitious program for afforestation and increasing greenery in Kuwait, fixing local sources of sand and dust with environmentally friendly materials, and evaluating, monitoring and controlling sandstorms and dust throughout the planned period. Al-Oqab called on the concerned authorities in the country to cooperate by activating Article 118 of the Environment Protection Law No. 42/2014, which is concerned with preparing emergency plans and managing natural hazards.
