KUWAIT CITY, July 31: The Royal Court of Bhutan has announced that King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck issued a decree on the Ambassador Extraordinary of Phub Dorji as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Kuwait, as well as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain.

The investiture ceremony for the new ambassador was held at the Royal Palace in the capital -- Thimphu, with the senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Bhutan in attendance. This marks the official commencement of his diplomatic duties. Phub Dorji is a prominent administrative figure who previously served as Governor of Thimphu. He has extensive experience in local administration and regional governance, and is known for his competence in institutional work and public service. A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bhutan revealed that the appointment of Dorji is within the framework of expanding and strengthening the diplomatic relations of Bhutan with the Gulf states, particularly Kuwait, whose relations with Bhutan are witnessing gradual development, especially in education, cultural exchange, and multilateral cooperation.
