LAHORE, July 5: An escaped pet lion attacked a woman and two children on a busy street in Lahore, according to police. A dramatic viral video captured the lion leaping over a wall before pouncing on the victims.

CCTV footage released by authorities shows the lion scaling a tall wall of a residential compound and fleeing. The animal then jumped onto a woman, knocking her to the ground.

According to a police complaint filed by the father of the children, the lion later attacked his five- and seven-year-old sons, clawing their arms and faces. All three victims were taken to a hospital, but thankfully none sustained life-threatening injuries.

The father also alleged that the lion’s owners, who rushed out of the house during the incident, appeared "amused" as they watched their pet attack innocent passersby.

Police reported that three men were arrested on Friday in connection with the incident. “The suspects fled the scene with the lion but were apprehended within 12 hours,” stated the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Operations in Lahore.
