Brazilian defender Calixto Perino.

KUWAIT CITY, July 17: Al-Fahaheel Club has signed Brazilian professional Calixto Perino to replace his compatriot Julio Cesar, who recently transferred to the Bahraini League.

Perino joined the team yesterday at their training camp in Egypt. The 31-year-old began his career with Brazilian club Horizonte in 2013 and has since played for ten different Brazilian clubs. In 2022, he settled with the Iraqi club Naft Al-Janoub, where he played for two seasons. Known for his strong physical presence, Perino excels in central defense, standing 190 cm tall. He is noted for his strength and aerial ability.

The club's administrative staff confirmed that Perino has joined the team's camp in Alexandria and will participate in friendly matches, starting today against Smouha of Alexandria.

In related news, Portuguese-Guinean midfielder Boubacar Djalo has also joined the team's training camp in Alexandria, arriving from the Finnish team Lahti. The team began training at the Egypt camp in preparation for the new season.

Meanwhile, Al-Qadisiya's new professional, Brazilian defender Igor Rossi, is set to join the team's training in Egypt tomorrow. Rossi, 35, is the fifth foreign player to join the "Yellow" squad, alongside Moroccan Mahdi Barahma, Nigerian Daniel Gebula, Libyan Mohamed Sula, and Moroccan Ismail Khafi. Rossi brings a wealth of experience from his professional stints with Scottish club Hearts, Portuguese club Maritimo, Saudi club Al-Faisaly, and UAE's Kalba Union.
