NEW DELHI, Jan 15: The prolonged delay of an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa on Sunday led to disturbing scenes of physical violence on board the Airbus A20N, which had been parked at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for more than 10 hours. An infuriated passenger, identified as Sahil Kataria, approached Anup Kumar, the flight's co-captain, and physically assaulted him. Kataria leaped over a food service trolley, intended to act as a barrier between Mr. Kumar and the passengers, striking him at least once before being restrained by another passenger.

The incident was captured on video by a third passenger who was recording the captain's announcement of a further delay. Reports suggest that Kataria, now in the custody of Delhi Police, hastily approached from his seat in the last row, raising concerns about the safety of passengers on board airplanes.

In a shocking turn of events, a passenger in the last row of an Indigo flight assaulted the captain who was announcing a delay in departure, highlighting unexpected challenges faced by airline crews.

In a subsequent clip, the passenger is seen apologizing with folded hands after authorities detained Katariya after IndiGo filed a complaint against him. A video clip shows the passenger aboard a Delhi-Goa IndiGo flight hitting the captain of the aircraft while he was announcing delays. The video, which has been shared widely on social media, has invited multiple responses by X users who called for action against the passenger. However, some pointed out the frustration among passengers, considering IndiGo has been amid a pile of complaints over cancellations, unreasonable delays and not meeting the standards.
