Kuwait City, 27 Sept: The Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with the National Council for Culture,
Arts and Letters (NCCAL), Kuwait and Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA)
will organize “Pakistani Cultural Week” from 13-16 October 2023. Director General,
PNCA Mr. Muhammad Ayoub Jamali will lead the 25-member cultural delegation from
Pakistan.
Pakistani Cultural Week will comprise of performances by renowned Pakistani
artists, including folk/ghazal singers, world-renowned instrumentalists and performing
artists. The cultural week will showcase cultural diversity of Pakistan alongside reflection
of commonality of traditions and shared values between the people of two brotherly
states.
The cultural week will also feature an expert talk on linkages between ancient the
Dimun and Indus civilizations of Kuwait and Pakistan. World acclaimed Pakistani
archeologist and recipient of Pakistan Civil Award, Dr. Ashraf Khan alongwith Dr.Hasan
Jassem Ashkanani, Assistant Professor (Anthropology) of Kuwait university will brief on
the historical relations between the two countries.
Pakistan Cultural Week is organized as part of series of events to celebrate the 60th
anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.
Earlier this year, a joint logo was officially launched by the Ministries of Foreign
Affairs of the two countries and both capitals agreed to organize a series of events/
programs to commemorate this historic milestone of 60 years of brotherly ties.
