PAAAFR confirms forming emergency team in bid to control desert locusts

KUWAIT CITY, May 20: The Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) has confirmed the formation of an emergency team for desert locust control under the supervision of Deputy Director General for Plant Wealth Affairs Dalal Rajab, reports Al-Qabas daily. The team monitored and dealt with the swarm of desert locusts that appeared in the southern part of the country on Monday.

The team also dealt with locusts that infiltrated the outskirts of a street in Wafra Agricultural Area, indicating a swarm of locusts came from the direction of Saudi Arabia. After the team completed its operations, it began a comprehensive survey of the southern region in anticipation of other swarms of locusts.
