KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: Delegations of male and female students, participants in the "Be Among the Best" initiative organized by the Kuwait Fund for Development for exceptional secondary stage students, have completed their educational journeys to Tunisia and Vietnam, reports Al-Jarida daily.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the initiative sought to reward outstanding students and provide them with enriching learning experiences.

Fatima Al-Tarkait, supervisor of the student delegation to Vietnam, expressed satisfaction with the outcomes, highlighting that the visit successfully achieved its intended goals.

During the trips, students had the opportunity to witness Kuwait's developmental contributions to sisterly and friendly countries, particularly through projects funded by the Kuwait Fund for Development. The delegations engaged with officials and project managers, gaining insights into the positive impact of Kuwait's contributions on people's lives and the economies of the host countries.

The Vietnam trip included comprehensive cultural and entertainment tours, allowing students to explore the country's significant products and industries. They visited Lam Wah Farm in Quan Phu Co, learning about Vietnamese incense stick production, and toured a ceramic factory, a key export industry for Vietnam.

The female student delegation visited the Coastal Infrastructure Development Project in Response to Climate Change in Tai Toei District, Tai Penh Province. This project aims to support coastal infrastructure to mitigate climate change's adverse effects, contributing to sustainable development goals.

Lulwa Al-Hindi, one of the students, expressed pride in the Kuwait Fund for Development's ongoing support to poor and needy countries, praising the organization for its humanitarian efforts.

On the other hand, Saleh Al-Taqi, supervisor of the student delegation to Tunisia, highlighted the trip's purpose of rewarding academically outstanding students. The delegation enjoyed cultural and recreational activities, exploring the iconic Sidi Bou Said region and the Dar Al-Annabi museum reflecting Tunisian architectural art and heritage.

Al-Taqi emphasized the strong historical relationship between Kuwait and Tunisia, dating back to 1963 when the Kuwait Fund for Development financed the first electricity project in Halak Valley. Student Hussein Mirza shared his positive experience, mentioning visits to an olive oil press, the Tunisian countryside, and the X20 beltway project, a Kuwait Fund-funded initiative aimed at easing traffic congestion around the capital.
