KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: Based on a surprising decision taken recently by the new President of Al-Durra Domestic Labor Recruitment Company Fahad Al-Qashti one day after taking charge of his position, expatriates will no longer be able to apply for domestic workers, as applications of only Kuwaiti citizens will be accepted.

He said he studied the foreign labor offers, which turned out to be very few compared to the demand locally. Al-Qashti revealed that he is currently studying the profit and loss rates of the company in the previous phase, adding that he will evaluate the performance of all the departments and sectors of the company in the coming phase in order to ensure justice in terms of access to rights and equal distribution of work.

He stressed the keenness of the company to provide the most suitable offers for the citizens in order to ensure domestic workers are recruited at reasonable prices for all. Al-Qashti disclosed that most of the offers available to Al-Durra currently are from the Philippines and India, indicating that the company will address the foreign offices in other countries in the future.

He clarified that Al-Durra’s main objectives are to eliminate the monopolistic practices and exaggerated recruitment costs, correct the path of the labor market and restore confidence in it, overcome all the obstacles in the recruitment procedures, achieve speed of work and accomplishments, and create healthy relations between employers and workers.
