NEW YORK, Nov 21, (Agencies): A shooting at a Walmart store in Beavercreek, Ohio, on Monday resulted in at least one fatality and three injuries, according to WHIO television. Witnesses reported that a man, armed with an assault rifle, opened fire in the store. Three injured individuals were transported to a nearby trauma center for treatment, as confirmed by a hospital spokesperson. Beavercreek police, who responded to the incident, assured the public that there was no longer a threat. The city, with a population of around 46,000, is located just east of Dayton.

The building was cleared and secured, with law enforcement using the social media platform X to announce that there was no active threat, although specific details about casualties were not provided. Images from the scene depicted a multitude of police cars converging on the store.

A witness shared a video on social media recounting her experience of encountering the shooter while shopping for Thanksgiving items. She described the terrifying moment when the assailant, armed with an assault rifle, passed by her and began shooting. Another witness on social media described the shooter as a “tall, young white guy” carrying an Army bag.

Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek received the three injured patients, according to Catherine Morris, a spokesperson for the hospital’s parent company, Kettering Health. Walmart redirected inquiries to law enforcement and issued a statement expressing heartbreak over the incident, emphasizing that the situation was still developing, and they were cooperating with investigators. Police announced their intention to provide more information as it becomes available.
