Official Ramadan Work Hours Announced by Civil Service Commission

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18: During the holy month of Ramadan, the Civil Service Commission has established official working hours for government agencies / Ministries operating with a flexible working hours system. These hours are set at four and a half hours per day.

According to the Commission’s decision, employees are expected to be present and dismissed at five designated time slots, starting from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM. Employees are allowed to arrive at any time within these slots but must complete 4.5 hours of work from their time of arrival.

During Ramadan, employees are granted a grace period of 15 minutes at the beginning and end of their shifts. Female employees also receive an additional 15-minute grace period at the end of their workday.

The designated time slots for attendance and dismissal are as follows:

  • From 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM
  • From 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM
  • From 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM
  • From 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM
  • From 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM

Government entities have the authority to assign employees to specific time slots or offer them a choice among several options.
