Kuwait’s CSC rolls out 5-day Eid holiday

KUWAIT CITY, May 11 : The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced Sunday that work will be suspended in all ministries, government agencies, and public institutions from Thursday, June 5, to Monday, June 9, in observance of Arafat Day and Eid Al-Adha for the year 1446 AH. In a statement posted on its official account on platform X, the CSC clarified that June 5 to 8 (Thursday to Sunday) will be official holidays, while Monday, June 9, will be considered a day of rest. Normal working hours are set to resume on Tuesday, June 10.

The statement added that agencies with special operational requirements will determine their holiday schedules in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure public interest is maintained. The Kuwaiti Cabinet announced on April 29 the suspension of work across all ministries, government agencies, authorities, and public institutions on the occasion of the Arafat Day and Eid Al-Adha holidays for the year 1446 AH. According to a Cabinet statement issued during its weekly session and chaired by Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, public sector holidays will span four days – from Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8, 2025. Monday, June 9, has been designated as a day of rest. Work in the public sector will resume on Tuesday, June 10. The Cabinet noted that entities with special operational requirements will have their holiday schedules set by the relevant authorities in line with public interest. (KUNA)
