KUWAIT CITY, May 25: Egypt has handed over to Kuwait an officer who recently fired shots in the air threateningly at his superior, a colonel, at Kuwait Airport. The incident unfolded when a first lieutenant at the airport engaged in a dispute with the colonel over medical treatment, bypassing administrative protocols. Subsequently, the lieutenant confronted the colonel at the airport's administrative buildings, firing two shots into the air before fleeing the scene.
The colonel promptly reported the incident to the airport police station, initially registered as a misdemeanor but later investigated for potential felony charges. Following an order by the investigator to apprehend the officer, it was discovered that he had left Kuwait to Egypt through the airport before being placed on the list of prohibited individuals. The airport investigations unit has forwarded the empty cartridge casings for forensic examination as part of ongoing inquiries.
