SO FAR, it seems His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf is following a reform approach that can be relied upon to lift the country out of what it has been enduring.

However, this will only happen if he completes what he started at the same pace that Kuwaitis are currently witnessing, and if he upholds his slogan that he will not oppress anyone.

This is the same thing that His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad stressed on more than one occasion. He had insisted on correcting the path in all official institutions, and ridding them of the clutches of the leaders and faces of the deep state that wreaked corruption in the country.

Here it must be emphasized that any reform that those in charge of the state do not envisage security and correcting any defect in it, for all their work will be like plowing in the sea. This is due to the fact that the corruption of these agencies means undermining the prestige of the state, and its inability to hold the negligent, deadbeats and aggressors accountable.

Also, any favoritism in these institutions means the loss of justice, and the transformation of injustice into a point of view.

It is a tool used to blackmail people, especially if those in it do not fear Allah, and do not realize the importance of their mission. This is because, if they disagree with any citizen, they either restrain him or falsify accusations on those close to him in order to put pressure on him and subdue him.

This type of corrupt apparatus brought chaos to many countries, especially Arab countries, as was the case in Iraq from 1958 until 2003. It still suffers from this problem today.

Also, the intelligence government that ruled Egypt during the era of Jamal Abdul Nasser and caused many crises and social devastation, as well as Libya, and other Arab countries, where the corruption of security and intelligence services ignited civil wars.

In this regard, the main task of state security agencies, especially in democratic countries, which have a clear vision of the meaning of the state of institutions, is to protect national security and submit studies and reports to the country’s leaders, and sometimes even decide on peace and war.

These agencies also have a file for every citizen. In the event that any person is nominated for a specific position, their file with all details is placed before the ruler.

This is to ensure that the decision is not misplaced, and also not to falsify information for the sake of a personal interest or for a specific benefit for the officer in charge of the one who will take over that position, which means allowing the corrupt to tamper with the state.

In many countries, the identities of state security leaders and officers are not revealed. There are many restrictions on these, including not misusing the position for a specific or personal interest.

In many cases, the identity of these leaders remains unknown even after their death, because they know secrets of the supreme national interest.

Based on this fact, we turn to His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister, and we say, “Security is the salt of justice. If corrupted, the state will be corrupted”.

His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister, who comes to public affairs from a security background, there is no doubt that words must be combined with actions for the reform of these agencies. Although we know that your Highnesses are well aware of this, we put them before you as a reminder, which benefits those who accept to be reminded.
