KUWAIT CITY, March 28: The number of requests to establish hotels, which are expected to be located near the existing hotels and hotel apartments, has been increasing at an alarming amid legitimate concerns about the ambiguous future of the tourism and hotel sector in the country; as well as loopholes in laws governing hotels, regulatory decisions, random construction expansion, transfer, distribution and overlapping functions related to hotel sector supervision in various ministries, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The absence of support and investment plans regarding the hotel sector in different ministries; lack of support, investment and revitalization plans for domestic tourism; and lack of tourists at home and abroad due to the economic repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic have exacerbated the situation in the country
