KUWAIT CITY, Aug 19: The Environment Public Authority (EPA) has issued a statement clarifying recent social media posts showing individuals throwing food in public areas to feed animals such as birds and cats.
The Authority stressed that such practices are considered a violation of Environmental Protection Law No. 42 of 2014, as amended by Law No. 99 of 2015. Article (33) of the law clearly prohibits the disposal of garbage or waste outside designated containers, with violators facing fines of up to 500 Kuwaiti Dinars.
The EPA emphasized that improper disposal of food not only breaches the law but also negatively impacts public cleanliness, community health, and the environment. Citizens and residents are urged to respect the law and use only designated waste containers to avoid penalties and help preserve Kuwait’s environment.
