No sharing of student data on unapproved platforms: Education Minister
Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei on Monday issued a ministerial decision regulating the use of student data and ensuring its protection from exploitation, the ministry announced.

In a press statement, the ministry said the decision bans the use or sharing of student data through unapproved external platforms or applications. All storage and processing of data must be carried out exclusively within the ministry’s official systems or on platforms approved by ministerial decision after clearance from competent authorities.

The ministry stressed that school administrations and educational zones are required to fully comply with the decision. Each school principal must sign a written declaration pledging not to enter any student data into external platforms, it added.

According to the ministry, the Information Systems Department will monitor the decision’s enforcement by conducting periodic audits and submitting regular reports to ministry leadership to guarantee proper implementation and safeguard information security.

The ministry further noted that it plans to launch training and awareness programs targeting directors, teachers, employees, and administrators to instill safe data-handling practices, minimize human errors, improve efficiency, and strengthen cybersecurity across educational institutions.

The decision takes effect immediately from the date of issuance, the ministry said, adding that all relevant authorities must comply within their jurisdictions, while any previous provisions conflicting with this decision are canceled.
