KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has confirmed its ongoing policy of appointing the children of Kuwaiti women when there are no available Kuwaitis to fill certain positions. It clarified that the replacement policy in government agencies does not apply to the children of Kuwaiti women.
In a recent press statement, the Commission explained that the appointment of non-Kuwaiti children of Kuwaiti mothers is governed by Decree No. 17 of 2017. This decree stipulates that only individuals of Kuwaiti nationality can be appointed to positions. If no Kuwaiti candidates are available, preference is then given to the children of Kuwaiti mothers, followed by candidates from Arab countries.
The Commission emphasized that the appointment of non-Kuwaitis with Kuwaiti mothers will only occur if there are no Kuwaiti applicants for the position in question. This process will adhere to the legally stipulated contract and the monthly remuneration established for non-Kuwaitis, depending on the type of contract involved.
Additionally, the CSC pointed out that its Central Employment System is an automated platform designed solely for registering Kuwaiti job seekers. Appointments for the children of Kuwaiti women are managed through a contract system and are subject to the relevant regulations.
