No hike in fees for private schools in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 2: Minister of Education Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei issued a decision to continue the implementation of the provisions of Ministerial Resolution No. 10/2018, stipulating the suspension of tuition fee hikes for all private schools. The decision also stipulates the continuous implementation of the provisions of Ministerial Resolution No. 61/2020 regarding tuition fees in private schools for people with disabilities, according to the attached lists for the 2025/2026 academic year. Pursuant to the decision, Al-Tabtabaei authorized the Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs to impose appropriate penalties on schools proven to have violated this decision or any other decisions and circulars issued in implementation or regulation thereof, while ensuring the enforcement of legal provisions regulating tuition fees. The Ministry of Education stated this decision is in line with its commitment to alleviate the burdens of parents and maintain stability in the private educational system, reaffirming its commitment to control tuition fees in order to guarantee fairness and stability of the educational process.

The ministry confirmed that the decision took effect from the date of its issuance, indicating all relevant authorities must be aware of it and act accordingly. It emphasized that maintaining stable tuition fees is the top priority in its efforts to provide balanced education, which is accessible to all students. Meanwhile, in view of the upcoming opening of schools, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Siddiq Cooperative Society Mohammad Al- Azmi announced the allocation of KD20 purchase allowance for each family ration card in celebration of the back-to-school season, reports Al- Seyassah daily. Al-Azmi confirmed in a press statement that the cooperative made all school and office supplies available at reasonable prices and of high quality, ensuring that the needs of students and parents are met as the new academic year begins. At the conclusion of his statement, Al-Azmi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Social Affairs for its continuous cooperation and swift facilitation of transactions, which serve shareholders and strengthen the role of cooperative societies in supporting the community.
