KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: Al-Salmiya will open its friendly matches tonight against Al-Jazeera at 7:30 pm at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium, home of Al-Sulaibikhat Club.

The Yellow Knights are gearing up for their Zain Premier League campaign, starting with a first-round clash against Kazma on September 12. Meanwhile, newcomer Al-Jazeera, competing in the Zain First Division League for the first time, aims to begin its season on September 14 under the guidance of Ibrahim Obaid.

Tonight’s friendly will be Al-Salmiya’s only local warm-up match before heading to Turkey next Thursday for a training camp lasting until August 30. During the camp, the team will play three additional friendlies to prepare for the league kickoff.

Coach Nasser Al-Shatti hopes to evaluate as many players as possible in today’s match and ensure the squad’s readiness. He also plans to give game time to new signings Syrian Mahmoud Al-Aswad and Jordanian Hussam Abu Al-Dhahab, alongside local additions Saud Qasim, Abdulrahman Salem, Abdullah Al-Shamali, Fawaz Al-Dosari, Omar Ali, Badr Jalal, and Nasser Salem.

Recent training sessions saw full participation from all foreign players, including Tunisian Imad Al-Lawati, Libyan Al-Sanousi Al-Hadi, Brazilian Alex Lima, as well as the newcomers Al-Aswad and Abu Al-Dhahab.
