The ministry stressed that any form of protection or tint on the windshield is strictly prohibited, as well as the use of reflective glass or any other type of tinting. This decision is an amendment to the previously established rate, which required revision in light of current circumstances and public needs, while ensuring that vehicle user safety is not compromised. The ministry once again urged all drivers to adhere to the new regulations and avoid violations for their safety and to prevent legal accountability. Meanwhile, a security source explained to the newspaper that the total permissible tinting percentage for vehicles with factory-installed tinted windows previously reached 70 percent. Under the new resolution, this figure now increases to 80 percent. The source elaborated that, for example, if a vehicle leaves the dealership with a tinting percentage ranging from 10 percent to 30 percent, an additional 50 percent may now be added according to the new resolution. This brings the total tint percentage to 80 percent, if the dealership’s original tint is 30 percent.
