KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: As an additional step to eradicate the phenomenon of private tuitions, the Ministry of Education has called on the Ministry of Information to take necessary legal measures against a number of magazines that publish advertisements for private tuitions.

It stressed the need to stop giving these magazines a publishing license in light of the escalation of the phenomenon that the ministry has not yet been unable to put an end to its spread despite the many steps it has taken previously to eliminate it, reports Al-Qabas daily. The Ministry of Education, represented by the Public Education and Legal Affairs sectors, sent the Ministry of Information a letter in which it stated that the Public Education Sector obliges all male and female teachers affiliated with it to stop giving private lessons, demanding that it be provided with the work information of these teachers, their work centers, and copies of their civil cards in order to take the necessary action.

The Ministry of Education had taken a number of practical steps in the past to limit the exacerbation of private lessons, which culminated during the pre-examination period. These steps included issuing annual warnings before and during the start of the school year for teachers working in the field, and the threat of taking deterrent measures, starting with writing the pledge when the teacher signs the work contract, the opening of evening remedial centers in all regions at low prices, and ending with the opening of an educational channel that displays scientific and literary lessons for male and female students
