The venerable artist Mohammed Al-Mansour confirmed that he is nearing the completion of shooting his scenes in the second season of the series “Al-Safqa,” which will be featured on the Netflix platform. He is also preparing for next year’s Ramadan series, “Al-Khan.”

Al-Mansour explained to “Al-Rai,” “The second part of ‘Al-Safqa’ will feature the same cast as the first part, and the story is a continuation of what happened before. The series will consist of 6 episodes, and the release date is subject to the platform’s decision.”

“We’re used to 30 episodes,” he continued, “I believe that participating in series showcased on digital platforms is a change for artists. The shorter timeframe and more intense events in six or eight episodes are different from the 30-episode series we’re accustomed to, which captivate viewers with daily anticipation and excitement.”

When asked about Kuwaiti dramas reaching international platforms like Netflix, he said, “It’s a beautiful and prideful thing to see our Kuwaiti series featured on a global platform. I would like to express my gratitude to my brother, producer Abdullah Boushahri, for his efforts over the past period, especially since he has officially become the executive producer for Netflix in Kuwait, the Gulf, and other Arab countries, thanks to his qualifications.”

He added, “Furthermore, Netflix is one of the platforms that has made significant contributions to the art industry, with excellent content and a strong global presence. They are very committed to translating works into more than 10 international languages.”

“Al-Khan” for Ramadan Regarding the upcoming Ramadan series, Al-Mansour revealed, “I am scheduled to appear before the audience in the historical period drama ‘Al-Khan.’ The series is set in the 1930s and 1940s, with events taking place between Kuwait and Zanzibar. It is a collaborative work by three excellent writers: Nawal Al-Filkaawi, Mohammed Al-Anzi, and Ahmed. The series is directed by Hussain Dashti, and it features a cast of stars, including Hussein Al-Mansour, Jamal Al-Redhaan, Fatima Al-Husani, Khaled Al-Breiki, Abdullah Al-Turkmani, and a surprise lineup of Saudi artists.”

When asked about his preference for historical period dramas in recent years, he explained, “That’s true, and the reason behind it is my determination and desire to learn about future generations’ ancestors and their lives in the past. I want to understand the events they went through, how they struggled and fought for a living, and how they contributed to building Kuwait, whether through trade, traveling to Africa and India, or diving deep into the sea.”
