KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The fifth round of the Premier Handball League concludes today at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex with two high-stakes matches. The main highlight sees Kuwait Club, last season’s Arab champion, take on Kazma, the league runners-up, at 6:30 PM in a rematch just four days after their previous encounter. Earlier, at 5:00 PM, Al-Sulaibikhat faces Burgan.

In the previous round, Kuwait Club recorded a 37-29 victory over Al-Sulaibikhat, while Al-Salmiya narrowly defeated Kazma 35-34. The standings before today’s matches are: Kuwait Club 8 points, Burgan and Al-Salmiya 6 points each, Kazma 5 points, Al-Qadsia and Al-Arabi 4 points each, Al-Sulaibikhat 3 points, and Al-Nasr 0 points.

Kazma’s squad today features a major boost: Ali Naseer, formerly of Al-Arabi. Following approval from the Sports Arbitration Authority, Naseer gained the freedom to sign with any club and officially joined Kazma. A talented wing player with extensive experience at the local and national levels, Naseer is expected to make an immediate impact for the “Orange team.”

Today’s match promises to be fiercely competitive. Kuwait SC aims to maintain its unbeaten start and continue dominating the league, having already defeated Kazma twice in the recent Arab Championship—once in the preliminary stage and again in the final. Kazma, meanwhile, looks to exact revenge, halt Kuwait Club’s momentum, and climb temporarily to second place in the standings.
