LOS ANGELES, Aug 2: Music legend Stevie Nicks has postponed a number of tour dates after suffering a fractured shoulder, requiring time for recovery, according to a statement released Friday on her official Instagram account.
“Due to a recent injury resulting in a fractured shoulder that will require recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled concerts in August and September will be rescheduled,” the statement read. Concerts slated for October remain unaffected.
The Fleetwood Mac icon, 77, is now expected to return to the stage on October 1, in Portland, Oregon. Fans who purchased tickets for the affected shows — which include stops in Detroit, Toronto, Brooklyn, Cincinnati, and Tampa — are encouraged to retain their tickets, which will be valid for the rescheduled dates. Details will be made available at the original point of purchase.
“Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone soon and apologizes to the fans for this inconvenience,” the statement added.
Fans responded warmly to the announcement, posting messages of support on social media. “Sending healing energy your way for a fast strong recovery,” wrote one. “Hope you’re feeling better soon, Stevie,” another added.
The tour interruption comes just weeks after Nicks and former bandmate Lindsey Buckingham sparked renewed interest in their collaborative work. The pair announced the reissue of their 1973 album, Buckingham Nicks, which is set for release on September 19 and is currently available for pre-order.
The announcement followed cryptic Instagram posts by both artists featuring lyrics from their song Frozen Love, fueling speculation about potential future collaborations.
Earlier this year, Nicks revealed she had begun working on what will be her 14th studio album, describing it as her “ghost record.” The idea for the album was born during a 92-day stay in a hotel due to the California wildfires. “At some point during that last part of the 92 days, I said, ‘You know what? I feel like I’m on the road, but there’s no shows,’” Nicks recalled during her Pollstar Hall of Fame induction in April.
The new album is said to be more personal than her past work. “They are real stories of memories of mine, of fantastic men,” Nicks said. “I’m not pulling any punches for probably the first time in my life.”
Despite the setback, Nicks remains focused on recovery and looks forward to returning to the stage later this year.
