KUWAIT CITY, Aug 25: Kuwait Municipality confirmed Monday that it is following a comprehensive strategy to ensure compliance with construction and building safety procedures while preserving the general appearance of buildings across the country’s six governorates.

Khaled Al-Fadhli, head of the emergency team in Ahmadi Governorate, told KUNA on the sidelines of a field inspection tour that the municipality plays a crucial role, starting with issuing various permits, including building, demolition, maintenance, temporary permits, and certificates.

Al-Fadhli said the municipality monitors construction during implementation, making necessary modifications to protect neighboring properties and ensure the safety of residents. He added that the municipality assists property owners and contracting companies by raising awareness of building regulations and safety procedures.

During Monday’s tour of the Al-Sabahiya residential area in Ahmadi, the inspection teams issued more than four warnings for violations, signaling that authorities will not hesitate to take control measures in line with building regulations.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to municipal laws, noting that inspection teams in all six governorates are actively implementing Kuwait Municipality regulations through field campaigns.
