MPW to apply Kuwaitization soon

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: Minister of Public Works Dr Rana Al-Fares is considering applying the Kuwaitization policy in the ministry in the coming phase by laying off 500 expatriate employees out of the total of 14,000 employees in the ministry, and replacing them with Kuwaitis, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting informed sources from the ministry.

They indicated that the minister, based on her keenness to apply this measure, asked the Undersecretary of the ministry Ismail Al-Failakawi for a list of non-Kuwaiti employees in all sectors of the ministry, their positions, salaries, date of appointment, and justification for their role in the ministry in the current phase.
