KUWAIT CITY, March 12: Informed sources at the Ministry of Public Works revealed the readiness of the construction projects sector to float a tender on the special education school complex project in Egaila through the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT). They explained that the establishment of the project in Egaila comes within the framework of the construction of three similar buildings in Jahra and Hawally, which will be proposed and implemented successively.

The ministry is awaiting the formation of the board of directors of CAPT, and will then resume the agency’s work progress for the project to be presented to the companies classified by CAPT. The project is one of the major development projects implemented by the ministry for the benefit of the Ministry of Education. The design of the project has been completed, and it will be implemented in three areas, namely Hawally, Egaila, and Jahra.

According to the project implementation schedule, two complexes for schools for people with special needs will be established, the first in Egaila and the second in Jahra. After the completion of the construction and operation of the two complexes in Egaila and Jahra, the private schools in Hawally will be demolished and a new complex will be built on their land.
Components The components of the project are in the three buildings, which are specialized buildings for teaching cases of deafness, mutism, movement disabilities, cases of Down syndrome, autism, and speech difficulties.

The complex contains physical therapy buildings with swimming pools, as well as a gym, a multi-purpose hall, and another for education and treatment of speech difficulties. It also contains craft workshops, student housing, and the administration building, as well as libraries, workshops, and theaters equipped with the modern technological means required to meet the needs and requirements of people with special groups with the maximum capacity. Meanwhile, according to an informed source, Kuwait Municipality has extended three additional contracts for the use of billboard sites in several companies in Farwaniya, Mubarak Al- Kabeer and Ahmadi governorates. The extension period will be six months, with a total revenue of up to KD 1.665 million.

They stressed that the extension of the auction contract in Farwaniya Governorate received the approval of the Ministry of Finance and the State Audit Bureau, with a total revenue of KD 739,000 for a period of six months from April until end of October. Regarding the extension of the Mubarak Al- Kabeer Governorate auction contract, the sources affirmed that the municipality had obtained regulatory approvals, with a total revenue of KD 301 thousand for a period of six months from February 6 to August 5. They explained that the regulatory agencies agreed to extend the same contract in Al-Ahmadi Governorate with a company for revenues amounting to KD 625,000 for a period of six months from April 25 to October 24.

The supervisory bodies stressed to the municipality the necessity of completing the tendering, awarding and contracting procedures for new bids before the end of the extension period. The difference in advertising revenues varies from one governorate to another. Farwaniya Governorate is considered the largest in terms of value, and is therefore regarded as the most important advertising market in Kuwait due to its distinguished geographical location and its demographic and commercial diversity.
