KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: Ministry of Interior last week notified about 50 expatriate employees that their services in the ministry will be terminated due to implementation of the Kuwaitization policy, reports Al-Anba daily quoting informed security sources.

They explained that the Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Essam Al-Naham gave the green light to the Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs Fawaz Al-Mishan to end the services of all expatriate employees who occupy positions that can be taken up by citizens without giving in to the reluctance of some parties to provide the names of expatriate employees who can be dispensed with especially since some believe giving out the names of those employees would negatively affect the livelihood of the latter.

Lieutenant General Al-Naham stressed that the Kuwaitization policy is a state policy that should be implemented without any considerations. He requested Al-Mishan to list the names of other expatriates in preparation for notifying them about the termination of their services in the next few months. The sources indicated that these expatriate employees will be given a three-month notice prior to termination of their services.
