KUWAIT, May 10: The Kuwait Ministry of Health announced taking urgent measures to accelerate the registration process as well as licensing 11 local factories to produce antiseptics and medical sterilizers in accordance with international health standards and international manufacturing quality.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Drug and Food Control Affairs at the Ministry, Dr. Abdullah Al-Badr, confirmed to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today (Health) the continuation of efforts in cooperation with the relevant sectors to harness all potentials to provide services to confront the emerging Corona pandemic.
Al-Badr said that the administration of the registration and control of medicinal and plant medicines is one of the first vital departments that prepared practical organizational plans to keep pace with the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through since the beginning of the crisis.
He explained that, according to the directions of the Minister of Health, Sheikh Dr. Basil Hammoud Al-Sabah, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mustafa Reda, emergency teams were formed in the administration to continue its work outside the official working hours to ensure the provision of the medicinal needs and the necessary medical supplies in this period.
He praised the efforts of the administration in checking and releasing 11,994 consignments that include pharmaceutical items, medical devices and supplies, sterilizers, antiseptics, protective masks and nutritional supplements that were received in the State of Kuwait since the beginning of preparations to meet the exceptional health conditions as they were available in the local market in record time.
Al-Badr pointed to the continuity of the department's work in evaluating, recording and analyzing the products to be registered to allow their circulation in the country. (KUNA) -
